The Beginning of Ads for Dating

In the early twentieth century, especially during the First World War, the personal ads in newspapers were popular among those seeking a pen pal. Thousands of lone soldiers and women who had been widowed needed to meet new people, even by mail. With the advance of modernity and technology, they were groups of people who were considered modern, bohemian or simply unconventional. These classes also began to give great importance to personal ads to find friends mostly by mail.

In the 60s, with the advent of Rock & Roll and the new drug warnings took a leading role in society. But the society of that time, suspected these things behind the ads for dating scammers, wicked people, criminals and dangerous people.
